Spring Festival 2027 - 60th Edition
This year marks the 60th edition of the Spring Festival. The programme includes the New European Ensemble, Ensemble Royaal, the Vocal Evening, Soundscape with the Royal Academy of Art and concerts curated by students.
The annual Spring Festival for new music, organised by the Composition Department of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, has been an established event in the Netherlands and abroad for decades. The festival traces its origins back to 1967, when Dick Raaijmakers organised his first Rehearings in the conservatoire's former building on Beestenmarkt. Its multidisciplinary approach was far ahead of its time.
The festival continues to thrive today, with a new generation of Composition students presenting their work. Through performances, installations and concerts, students demonstrate that the Composition Department has lost none of its radical spirit and inquisitive approach over the years.
