For Third Space 2026, the ensemble Bruit joins forces with Richard Barrett and Milana Zarić. Building on a collaboration with Belgrade’s Ensemble Studio6 that dates back to 2019, they have developed a programme that creates new links between composition and improvisation, performance/sound art, and the jazz tradition. In doing so, defining currents of the 20th and 21st centuries are revisited and recontextualised.
Bruit – Group for Music Creation was founded in 2021 by Biel-based musicians Jonas Kocher and Gaudenz Badrutt. The ensemble explores sonic boundaries where acoustic and electronic sounds engage in a vibrant dialogue. The lines between composition and improvisation are blurred, with electronics integrated as an equal instrument within the creative process.
With its diverse line-up and open artistic direction, Bruit creates a unique space for experimental music that garners both national and international acclaim.
