After alumna Floor Eimers (Nijmegen) graduated from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. In 2012, she joined Dutch National Ballet as an aspirant, where she went through the ranks of élève, corps de ballet and coryphée, becoming a grand sujet in 2017. In 2019, Floor made her debut in the dual role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake. At the start of season 2019-2020 Floor was promoted to the rank of soloist.
This year her work was Awarded by the prestigious Alexandra Radius Award.
Floor won the prize because of her exquisite qualities as a dancer: "throughout the years, Floor has evolved into an extremely skilled dancer with enormous physical power, remarkable technical talent and an expressive theatre personality. Moreover, she is a true ambassador of the Dutch dance world off stage, as a member of the Comité van Aanbeveling van Stichting Kunst in Beweging and Stichting Dansersfonds ’79 and as one of the founders of Dans Talenten Fonds.
Alexandra Radius award
Each year one of the dancers of the National Ballet is awarded this price because they distinguished themselves in an honourable way.
The Alexandra Radius award entails € 3000,- and a piece of art, bequeathed by designer and illustrator Humprhey Bennett. The price is awarded by Vrienden van het Nationale Ballet.
The jury consisted of the following well-known names in the ballet world: Alexandra Radius (former principal dancer at Dutch National Ballet), Caroline Sayo Iura (former principal dancer and ballet master of the Junior Company), Astrid van Leeuwen (dance journalist), Frederik Redelé (member of the ballet commission) and Stella Noach (friend of Dutch National Ballet).
