Alumna Nora Fischer wins Edison award with Marnix Dorrestein

16 November 2018

Alumna Nora Fischer wins the prestigious Edison Award for her debut album 'Hush' with guitarist Marnix Dorrestein. On this album, she sings 17th century songs of Monteverdi, Scarlatti and Purcell stripped down to their purest most basic form and brings them to life in a contemporary style.

The jury report spoke of 'an unorthodoxe CD'. Fischer and Dorrestein were motivated to create this album to showcase the beauty and timeless relevance of these 17th century songs, which often deal with core themes such as love and desire, much like music today.
