On the 17th of May, Queen Maxima turned 50. On the occasion of her birthday children and musicians celebrated the power of music together in a concert in Carre. The name of the concert was 'Queen Maxima, a life full of music.' The evening was organized by 'Meer Muziek in de Klas', an organization working hard to get more music education in primary schools.
Douwe Eisses, a student of JongKC, performed with Juan Pablo Dobal, Izalin Calister, Carel Kraayenhof and dancers of the Dutch National Ballet. Carel Kraayenhof became famous when he performed 'Adios Nonino' on his bandoneon at the royal couple's wedding. This time he played the same song for the Queen, but now together with Douwe on Cello. They also played 'Alfonsina y el mar'.
