Going Live with Kardelen

16 July 2020

Finally, the first concerts are starting up again. Kardelen, who just graduated from the Royal Conservatoire two weeks ago with a distinction (congratulations!) is taking us backstage for her first post Corona concert. The Ciconia Consort is an ensemble of young musicians (and many KonCon alumni). Today, Ciconia plays a programme with American compositions. The ensemble started rehearsing on Monday. In addition to the concert, the ensemble will also record a CD this week. Check our Insta Story’s for Kardelen’s takeover.

Kardelen studied Classical Music Viola with a.o. Mikhail Zemtsov. She did her Bachelor- and Master studies in The Hague and has a minor in Education. Kardelen has an infectious smile and before you know it everyone around her is smiling too. With her constant high level of energy and her open nature, the young Turkish woman quickly conquered the local music scene in The Hague. She organizes concerts in The Hague for refugees to build a bridge between her classical music world and parts of the city such as Escamp which are less exposed to arts and culture.

With the Global Leaders Programme, Kardelen toured through South-America. She did a.o. fieldwork in Jamaica where she worked for several NGO’s as a teacher artist. We wish Kardelen and all our graduates of the Class of 2020 all the best and hope to stay in touch and see all your initiatives and concerts online and offline.
