Noëlle is Laureate of Classic Young Masters

25 June 2021

Noëlle Drost, a second years bachelor student of the vocal department, is selected for the 'Meesterproef' (Master Test) of Classic Young Masters (CYM).

To be selected for this Meesterproef, candidates were asked to record a piece after their choice. Noëlle chose to send in a recording of the aria 'Parto, ma tu ben mio' by Mozart. This recording was made in February with students of the Royal Conservatoire as part of a Livestream for the project 'Christmas for each other' of which Noëlle was one of the initiators.

On this website, you can find the recording and information about the project.

This recording was enough for Noëlle to get through the pre-selection. Normally, for the next 'level' she would have to do a live audition, but this year, the singer was asked to make some more recordings. This time she made recordings of pieces selected by the YCM commission.

Last week Noëlle got the message that she is Laureate. Therefore she can sing in the theatre De Doelen in Rotterdam in November as part of the so-called Meesterproef. At that concert, she can also win two years of individual coaching. But Noelle also already expects to learn a lot by being a laureate.

'I hope to meet new people to make music with and to sing in a lot of beautiful places. I want to let the audience enjoy all the wonderful music that has been written.'

Congratulations Noëlle and lots of luck with the preparations for the Meesterproef.
