The University of the Arts The Hague announces that Jacquill G. Basdew has joined its Supervisory Board. His appointment marks a further step in strengthening future-oriented and inclusive governance within the institution. On the Supervisory Board, Basdew is a member of the Education & Research Committee.
Basdew is active as a cultural leader and socio-cultural initiator, operating at the intersection of art, education, and societal development. In his work, he connects artistic, strategic, and societal insights, with a focus on inclusion, accessibility, and enhancing the role of art and culture within the broader society. He also holds supervisory roles at institutions such as Kunstmuseum Den Haag and DutchCulture.
Within the Supervisory Board, Basdew focuses on linking craftsmanship, artistic development, and societal context. Through his appointment, he also actively contributes to the renewal of governance within supervisory boards and to strengthening the position of new generations in administration and oversight.

'Through my work in the arts and cultural sector, I have been involved with the Royal Academy of Art for many years. It is special to now deepen and expand my involvement in a more structural way to include the Royal Conservatoire, especially in the year it celebrates its 200th anniversary. In my role on the Board, I am committed to strengthening the relationship between art, education, and society, and to a way of governing and supervising that makes room for new perspectives and generations.'
