Jan van de Watering and Joran van Pijkeren awarded at Prinses Christina Concours

Two students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague have won prizes at the national final of the Princess Christina Classical Competition 2026 in Amare. Trombone student Jan van de Watering won first prize, while percussion student Joran van Pijkeren received third prize.
In addition to first prize, Jan van de Watering also received the Press Jury Prize for his performance. Alongside third prize, Joran van Pijkeren was awarded the Laureates Jury Prize, the Stichting Sanssouci Prize and a TROMP Percussion Pass.
After the final, the jury praised the high level of the participants: ‘What fantastic, deeply moving and mature musicians we have seen and heard today!’
