Royal Conservatoy student Karmit Fadael was unanimously chosen as the winner of the Tromp prize for her composition Paringsdans.

In addition to the competition and festival, TROMP organizes a composition competition for young composers who study at Dutch conservatories. At last week's festival, the compositions were performed by fellow students for an audience and a jury that consisted of Marijn ten Harmsen van der Beek (chairman), Mayke Nas (composer), Bert Palinckx (director November Music), Davo van Peursen (director Donemus Publishing) and Janco Verduin (composer).
