Karmit Fadael wins Tromp prize 2018 for her composition 'Paringsdans'.

Royal Conservatoy student Karmit Fadael was unanimously chosen as the winner of the Tromp prize for her composition Paringsdans.

In addition to the competition and festival, TROMP organizes a composition competition for young composers who study at Dutch conservatories. At last week's festival, the compositions were performed by fellow students for an audience and a jury that consisted of Marijn ten Harmsen van der Beek (chairman), Mayke Nas (composer), Bert Palinckx (director November Music), Davo van Peursen (director Donemus Publishing) and Janco Verduin (composer). The jury comments on 'Paringsdans': "Immediate spectacle. Minimal set-up, maximum effect and gouge ". Read more here.
