During the national finals of the Princess Christina Classical Competition 2025, our violin student Diana Fakour, student of Ilona Sie Dhian Ho, received multiple prizes. Together with cellist Emma Naegele, she formed the duo that won both the third prize and the press prize.
The jury praised the duo for their musical expression and strong ensemble playing during the final, which took place on Sunday, May 18 at Amare. The intermission concert was performed by two alumni of the Royal Conservatoire, both pianists.
As Duo Vita, Diana and Emma have been awarded participation in an international summer school of their choice, worth €1,000, as well as tickets for the A or Z concert series at the Royal Concertgebouw. They also have exciting performances ahead: a lunch concert in the Great Hall of De Vereeniging in Nijmegen and a collaboration with the Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands.
The Princess Christina Competition is one of the most prestigious competitions for young classical musicians in the Netherlands. The annual competition is open to children and young people aged 4 to 21, competing in various categories.
Congratulations, Diana!
