Three Royal Conservatoire composers nominated for the Tera de Marez Oyens Prize

Three composers from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague have been nominated for the 2026 Tera de Marez Oyens Prize. Amba Klapwijk and Annija Anna Zarina are alumni of the Composition Department, while Lydia Gardiner is currently completing an Artist Certificate at the Royal Conservatoire.
The Tera de Marez Oyens Prize supports emerging composers who have recently graduated in the Netherlands, helping them bridge the gap between their studies and professional practice. The winner receives €2,500 towards a commission for a new short composition for a professional ensemble. The new work will be performed at the next Gaudeamus Festival.
Four composers have been nominated for this year’s prize. Their compositions will be performed at Theater Kikker in Utrecht on Saturday 12 September, as part of Gaudeamus Festival 2026. The jury will select the winner following the performances and announce the result at the end of the concert.
