Royal Conservatory of Dance integrates dance education with regular education at the School for Young Talent (SvJT)
The dance program consists of daily lessons in subjects including classical ballet, pointe technique, physical training, modern dance, repertoire, pas de deux, caractère, flamenco, improvisation, repertoire Dutch Dance Theater and Dutch School. In addition, presentations and performances are an important part of the program. The SvJT Dance offers children from elementary school grade 7 who have successfully auditioned, a continuous learning line where at the end of high school admission can be made to the Bachelor of Dance.
Thanks to its world-renowned dancers, choreographers and designers, the Netherlands is a world leader in the field of dance. Because of the affiliation of representatives, including Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Nils Christe, among others, with our program, the repertoire of the Dutch School, renowned for its unique movement idiom and musicality, is an important part of the curriculum.
The Royal Conservatory is housed together with Nederlands Dans Theater, Residentie Orkest and the Amare Foundation in the culture house Amare, in the center of The Hague.
