Floor Eimers
Dancer Floor Eimers is soloist with the Dutch National Ballet. When she was nine, she joined the dance class at the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatoire and eventually stayed through the Bachelor programme, which she completed in 2012. Almost immediately after graduation, she was accepted as an aspirant with the Dutch National Ballet.
Floor grew up inside the Royal Conservatoire en still thinks fondly of her time in The Hague: “It was a truly valuable time that I wouldn't have missed for the world. It allowed me to develop not only as a dancer but also as a human being. I've had to grow up quickly, but I've only experienced that as something quite positive. If you ask me, I believe especially the bachelor's is a great programme to prepare for the professional world. I've always enjoyed the variety of classes, teachers and repertoire, which helped me to truly find my own style and voice as an artist.
Floor's career with the Dutch National Ballet saw her grow from aspirant to élève (2013), corps de ballet (2014), coryphée (2016), grand sujet (2017) and soloist (2019). She's danced famous roles such as Myrtha in Giselle, Odile/Odette in the Swan Lake en Mata Hari in Ted Brandsens Mata Hari. She is famous for her extraordinary strength and technique, but also for her natural ability to huminize her characters. In 2021 Floor was awarded the Alexandra Radius Prize in recognition of her exceptional achievements with the company.
Next to her work as a dancer Floor is board member of the Stichting Dansersfonds ‘79 and the Dance Talent Fund, an organisation that provides scholarships for the National Ballet Academy.
Floor: “It is such a special atmosphere at the KC. The energy of young people, their ambition to create art together, it is something very special. I wouldn't have want to miss it for the world.”
