Born in Portugal in 1997, Nuno Nogueira is currently Principal Horn of the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen in Belgium and horn player of the Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn - Orchestre Symphonique Bienne Soleure in Switzerland.
Between 2019 and 2022, he was an academist with the prestigious Bayerische Staatsorchester/Bayerische Staatsoper under the direction of Kirill Petrenko.
He has frequently collaborated with orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Residentie Orkest, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre National de Lille, Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester, Münchener Kammerorchester, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Akademie of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Orquestra XXI, among others.
He was also selected for the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, European Union Youth Orchestra, Mahler Academy, and the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée.
Nuno has won 1st Prize at the “Jovens Trompistas” Competition (2020), the “Terras de la Salette” Competition (2018), and the Adácio Pestana Competition (2016).
He completed his Bachelor’s degree at ESMAE (Portugal). He pursued his Master’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig with Professor Thomas Hauschild, supported by a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship, and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Professor Jacques Deleplanque.
