Robin van de Paverd began playing the flute at the age of eight. During her teenage years, she performed in various orchestras and attended several courses at the Netherlands Flute Academy, which inspired her to continue her musical education at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. In 2024, she obtained her bachelor’s degree there in the class of Jeroen Bron. She also participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned flautists such as Denis Bouriakov, Mario Caroli, and Emily Beynon, further enriching her artistic development.
Starting in September 2025, Robin will return to the Royal Conservatoire as a flute teacher within the PI programme. At the same time, she will pursue her Master’s degree in Classical Flute at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, studying under Kersten McCall, Vincent Cortvrint, and Mariya Semotyuk-Schlaffke.
Robin’s passion for teaching was sparked by the dedication and enthusiasm of her own teachers. Their commitment and joy in teaching inspired her to follow the path of music education herself and showed her how deeply good teaching can influence a student’s development. Since her second year of study, she has gained extensive experience teaching both group and individual lessons at various music schools and associations. Guiding young, motivated flutists gives her great satisfaction — not only musically, but also pedagogically and socially. Questions such as how to foster self-confidence, perseverance, and joy in playing are key driving forces in her work as a teacher.
Alongside her teaching, Robin is active as a performing musician. She has played with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (JeugdOrkest Nederland), the Netherlands Student Orchestra, the VU Orchestra, and served as an orchestral intern with Sinfonia Rotterdam during the 2024/2025 season. She has also achieved success at the Benelux Flute Competition and the Dutch International Flute Competition. Currently, she is a member of the Netherlands Flute Academy Ensemble (Neflac) and is regularly involved in projects with, among others, Ars Musica and Club Classique.
