The Jazz Department at the Royal Conservatoire is a place of discovery, challenge and joy, where students are encouraged to explore the many voices of jazz – from its rich traditions to contemporary expressions – and to develop their own artistic identity within this broad spectrum. Rhythm and improvisation lie at the heart of the curriculum. Students build essential skills and knowledge while cultivating an inquisitive, creative and sustainable approach to their artistic practice.
