From 19 to 22 September, the second edition of the Leiden Essay Film Festival takes place. The festival is co-initiated by the FILM Research Group of University of the Arts The Hague, of which the Royal Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Art The Hague are part.
Over four days, discover 44 essay films from more than twenty countries. This adventurous film genre brings art and research together. Filmmakers follow their personal curiosity to explore events and subjects from their own perspective. Alongside screenings, the festival offers conversations with filmmakers, live music and film performances. The programme combines recent work by emerging filmmakers with classics of the genre. The festival opens on Saturday 19 September at 14.00 at Museum De Lakenhal.
