From early music to modern chamber music. From ensembles to the finest works for solo instruments. During Radio West's monthly Thursday evening concerts, you will be surprised by a variety of musical styles by students of the Royal Conservatoire. The concerts can also be heard live on Omroep West.
Programme
In Licht in der Nacht, students of the Vocal Studies, Classical Music and National Master Orchestral Conducting departments present a musical-theatrical concert exploring the love story of Alma and Gustav Mahler. Under the baton of renowned conductor Jac van Steen, and with arrangements by Jan Willem Nelleke, vocal students and a chamber ensemble give voice to a journey of longing, conflict and connection. Songs by both Alma and Gustav Mahler form the emotional core of the programme. This special collaboration offers students the chance to delve deeply into musical storytelling, expression and ensemble performance. A moving performance where music and narrative merge.
