The early music department of the KC is in grief at the death of Ricardo Kanji, an outstanding recorder and flute player who also conducted. He was a member of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and of the Philidor Ensemble.
A Brazilian, born in Sao Paolo, Ricardo studied at the Peabody in Baltimore, and then at the Royal Conservatoire with Frans Brüggen, whom he succeeded as recorder teacher.
