Master's student Composition Karmit Fadael received Het Gouden Viooltje on 12 April 2024. The prize was awarded at a concert by the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, where her violin concerto Mimesis had its world premiere.
At 28, she is the youngest winner of Het Gouden Viooltje. At the Royal Conservatoire, she studied with teachers Calliope Tsoupaki, Guus Janssen and Martijn Padding, among others. After she completed her bachelor's degree in 2019, her career went quickly. Karmit Fadael writes music for a variety of ensembles, including the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orkest and Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and now is a master's student Composition at the Royal Conservatoire.
