Winners of the Netherlands Violin Competition 2024

The Netherlands Violin Competition took place from 6 to 27 January 2024. Among the winners and finalists are many students and graduates of the Royal Conservatoire. Many congratulations! For more information, please visit vioolconcours.nl.
Oskar Back Prize
The Oskar Back Prize is for top talents: violinists up to the age of 26 who want to play at the highest level.
- Salomé Bonnema (first prize), Young KC alumna
Young Makers Prize
The Young Makers Prize is intended for violinists and their ensembles who play in genres other than classical music.
- Sybren Holwerda: Isle Quartet (third prize), hbo Jazz student. The Isle Quartet also consists of Linda Lukas (hbo Classical Music student), Irene Garcia (hbo Classical Music student) and Elsa Le Moigne (alumna).
Davina van Wely Prize
The Davina van Wely Prize is aimed at talented violinists aged between 14 and 17 who are considering studying the violin or are already taking part in professional training courses.
- Marcel Sutedja (first prize), Young KC student
- Michelle Kumara (second prize and prize for the best performance of the Mendelssohn string quartet), Young KC student
- Charlotte Kouwe (third prize), Young KC student
- Adinda van Delft (semi-finalist and prize for best performance Genevieve Murphy - Sorry, I lost you there), hbo Classical Music student
Iordens B Prize
The Iordens B Prize is open to young violinists aged 13-14.
- Floor Kes (third prize and prize for best performance Mathilde Wantenaar - Petit Morceau), Young KC student
Iordens A Prize
The Iordens A Prize is open to young violinists aged between 10 and 12.
- Anne Sophie van Lier (second prize), Young KC student
