We would like you to write a letter of motivation (max. 300 words) in which you will share with us;

  • why you think you are qualified
  • what you hope to develop and achieve

This motivation letter will be part of your audition and should be sent to: info@slagwerkdenhaag (att. Fedor Teunisse | subject: motivation letter Master Ensemble Percussion)

Furthermore we expect you to prepare excerpts from the following works:

  • Timber - Michael Gordon (part 1 numbers A until B)

  • Drama - Guo Wenjing (part VI from part 3/low cymbals)

  • 1+1 - Philip Glass (entire work to be prepared)

  • Corporel - Vinko Globokar (first page only, until action 4)

Besides performing excerpts, the audition may also include working with SDH-percussionists and discussing your motivation, and working with a stage-director on some theatrical aspects of your performance.

Master plan

Before you start the master you must hand in a Master plan. This plan needs to contain the following: your motivation for following the Master study, the specific principal study you wish to follow and the goals you wish to accomplish, the research programme and its relationship to the principal subject and any other personal wishes for the study.
