Laura is a pianist, composer, and music educator from Havana, Cuba.
She began playing the piano at the age of four under the guidance of her grandmother, who worked as a music educator for many years. At eight years old, Laura was admitted to the conservatory in Havana, where she studied classical piano until she was nineteen. During her studies, she won several competitions and represented her generation at various festivals.
As the youngest pianist from the legendary Peruchín musical family, Laura grew up surrounded by traditional Cuban music. This environment deeply influenced her development and shaped her musical identity.
After graduating, Laura worked as a piano teacher at the Havana conservatory, sharing her knowledge and experience with younger generations.
In 2019, Laura moved to Rotterdam to continue her studies at Codarts University of the Arts. During her time there, she founded her band, Beatriz. She performed with the band at various festivals across Europe and South America while composing and releasing her own music.
Alongside her artistic career, Laura actively teaches at universities and music schools across the Netherlands, including ArtEZ Zwolle, Codarts Rotterdam, Young KC The Hague, and the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Since September 2026, Laura has been working with the "PI Music for Toddlers" program at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
