26 February 2024

On Friday 9 February, the masterclass for the Cultuurfonds School for Young Talent Dance Scholarships took place. The scholarships are to be used for an (international) course, workshop or training. The masterclass consisted of a classical ballet lesson given by guest teacher Stefan Zeromksky. During this masterclass, the jury, made up of Fred Berlips (Het Nationale Ballet), Jeanne Solan (NDT) and Pascale Neveu (Cultuurfonds School for Young Talent), assessed the students 'on the basis of their talent, artistry and technique, taking into account their stage of development'. The Dance Scholarship of € 2000 was awarded to Aaron de Lamotte. The jury wrote about him: 'Your eagerness and motivation were a pleasure to watch.' The Encouragement Prize of € 1000 went to Femke Feith. 'Nothing wrong with your talent and hard work!' said the jury.

Aaron: 'I really enjoyed the masterclass for the Cultuurfonds Dance Scholarship, it was a moment for me to measure how well I perform under pressure, because the jury is watching you. The class was also fun; I got a lot of new corrections from the teacher who was teaching the class, so I learned a lot.'

Femke: 'It was my first experience of a Scholarship lesson, but I really enjoyed it. I am glad that we got to experience it and I think it was a good experience. I learned a lot from it. I would like to spend this prize on a summer course abroad to have fun and learn!'
