During the fifth edition of the Day of the Composer, new music takes centre stage across the Netherlands. More than one hundred concerts, performances and other activities will take place in over fifteen cities, featuring work by composers from across the country.
The Hague is also part of the festival. New compositions will be heard throughout the day at distinctive locations, including Den Haag Centraal and the Traptheatre in Amare. NPO Klassiek will broadcast live from the festival.
For this edition, Tobias Alvarez di Desidero, Yating Wang, Floris van Ballegooijen, Alex Blair, Jorn Prenger, Lina Zachari and Karolis Dabulskis present new work created especially for the occasion. Some of these compositions will be performed by an ensemble led by Stephanie Pan, The Hague’s city composer during the Day of the Composer. Other composers will assemble their own ensembles.
