14 November 2024

İdil Yunkuş has won the Vioolbeurs from Het Kersjes Fonds. Ídil is studying with Janet Krause for the master's degree in Classical Music violin.

The jury describes her as:

'a violinist with intense, flexible and sensitive playing. She has the sound and charisma to excel in chamber music and solo repertoire. She is at home in various musical genres; she plays both the ‘classical’ violin repertoire and contemporary music with great ease and verve; she also regularly performs new music from her native country, Turkey.'

Het Kersjes Fonds, founded in 1994 by conductor Anton Kersjes and his wife Margreet van de Groenekan, annually awards scholarships and prizes for young talent and to support special projects and original initiatives. İdil can spend the scholarship on talent development and everything needed for a starting career.

We warmly congratulate İdil Yunkuş on this great achievement!
