The Royal Conservatoire performed well at the Nationaal Cello Concours at the Cello Biënnale. The final took place on 8 November 2024.
The first prize was won by Thomas Prechal. He did part of his education at the Royal Conservatoire with Jan Ype Nota and Michel Strauss. The second prize was won by Bruno Tobon, master's student with Jan Ype Nota and Michel Strauss.
Mudrė Buckutė, bachelor's student with Lucia Swarts, made it to the second round of the competition and received the Encouragement Award and the Start in Splendor Prize. This prize offers a learning path in which the winner gets to programme and promote their own concert. Beste Yildiz, master's student with Larissa Groeneveld, also made it to the second round.
