During the Early Music Open Stage, students of the Early Music Department perform repertoire of their own choosing. These informal evenings offer space for experimentation, discovery and musical exchange in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
From solo performances to ensemble playing, and from Renaissance music to works from the Classical period, every programme is different. Students have the opportunity to explore new repertoire, develop concert programmes and share their artistic ideas with an audience.
The Open Stage has long been a valued tradition within the Early Music Department. Many musicians who have gone on to build international careers first performed here as students. An enjoyable and varied concert experience for anyone interested in discovering emerging talent and remarkable music.
