If you would like to spend every day dancing and are looking for a challenge, come along to the auditions for the Dance programme of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Auditions for young talent
Royal Conservatoire Dance organises auditions at various times during the year in The Hague, and also an audition in Haarlem and Woerden. The auditions are for boys and girls in groups 4 to 8 of primary school and taking part costs nothing. What the jury is looking for is talent, so years of prior dance experience is not a requirement. The most important criteria are musicality, creativity, coordination and a feel for movement. The auditions on 16 May are for children in the first class and higher of secondary school. The audition consists of participation in dance lessons with peers in the Dance department. The auditions on 3 June are for the orientation programme (for children from group 4 in primary school).

Royal Conservatoire Dance
We train talented dancers for a future career as creative and independent artists who combine an open mind with craftsmanship, passion and ambition. To promote the students’ professional development, the department works closely with Nederlands Dans Theater, which moved together with us to the new building Amare in 2022. The dance curriculum encompasses various dance techniques, with a focus on classical ballet throughout the programme. The younger pupils also have lessons in modern dance, world dance and flamenco. The advanced pupils and Bachelor’s students also learn modern and contemporary dance techniques and styles, repertoire and pas-de-deux and receive coaching.
