You are invited to come along to Amare and join in a music session with students from the Royal Conservatoire. Meet4Music is a series of free workshops for anyone who enjoys playing music. Everyone is welcome and no experience or instrument is required. The workshops led by students and teachers from the Royal Conservatoire are held on Monday evenings in the public spaces of the Amare complex.

Join an inspiring workshop exploring rhythms from different cultures. While each culture has its own musical principles, they are often rooted in similar foundations. This evening, we will explore what musically connects different cultures through body percussion and percussion instruments. Everyone is welcome to join in!
This Meet4Music session is led by Gijs Anders van Straalen, assisted by Music in Education students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
Gijs Anders van Straalen is a percussionist, drummer, cultural musicologist and music educator. Over the past 25 years, he has toured the world with various bands and studied with renowned percussion masters in West Africa, Brazil, South India and the United States.
In this Meet4Music session, we will focus on Caribbean rhythms. Together with Siegfried Hart, Jeremy Garcia and Music in Education students, we will explore Aruban rhythmic styles. Everyone is welcome to take part in this energetic, swinging workshop.
Do you have your own percussion instrument? Feel free to bring it along!
Come to Amare and join us for the annual Christmas singalong. Together with conductor Daniël Salbert and pianist Laura Sandee, we will sing well-known and lesser-known Christmas classics. Everyone is welcome to join in.
