Royal Conservatoire Big Band, led by Miho Hazama

Grammy-nominated composer, Miho Hazama is one of the most acclaimed artists of her generation. Lauded in Downbeat as one of “25 for the Future”, Miho developed her signature jazz chamber orchestra “m_unit” and has released three full-length releases on Universal Music Japan/ Sunnyside Records. Miho Hazama has also composed for the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ashley Bouder Project Ballet Company and became a composer in residence of the Siena Wind Orchestra in 2017. In 2019, Miho took up a post as the chief conductor of the Danish Radio Big Band. At the start of the 2020/2021 season, Miho was appointed Permanent Guest Conductor at the renowned Metropole Orkest and will work with the orchestra over several weeks each season.

The Royal Conservatoire's Big Band will be led by this inspiring artist for a week. This project week will be concluded with two dazzling concerts in which Miho Hazama's own compositions and arrangements will be central.
