Womxn in the Arts (internal event)

Dear students and colleagues,

Following up on our last Share the Stage online forum on LGBTQ+ in 2020, we will be presenting our third forum on the topic of Womxn in the Arts to discuss the experiences of people in the arts who identify as women.

Members of KC and KABK communities are invited to share their perspectives and experiences of representation, in the Conservatoire and the Academy. Topics will include: experiences related to representation, inclusion, awareness, educational resources, curriculum, social connections, projects & events, the art business, etc.

This online forum, the third in our series, is a chance for students, teachers, and staff at the Royal Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Art to come together to reflect on and discuss diversity and inclusion; a topic which is central to all musicians and artists within and beyond our walls.

Together with the Royal Conservatoire’s Diversity Advisor, Dr. Nicole Jordan, Diversity Officer and Head of International Affairs, Mrs. Aparajita Dutta, members of the respective Diversity Committees, and specially invited speakers from the community, we invite the forum attendees to explore questions such as:

  1. What are the experiences of womxn in the conservatoire/academy?
  2. What are the Royal Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Art doing practically to progress the inclusion and representation of womxn?
  3. What more can we do?

Please join the online forum on Thursday 2 December, from 16.30 pm – 18:00 pm. Shared presentations and underlying documents as well as the MS Teams link will become available through the KC Portal.

Please note, this is an internal event open to students, teachers and staff of the Royal Conservatoire and KABK only.
