It is with great honour and appreciation that the Royal Conservatoire The Hague will grant Mr. Barry Harris, posthumously, the honorary title Maestro Honoris Causa. His contribution to both our institution and our Jazz Department as well as the international professional Jazz world has been of immense significance.
We honour a lifetime of exceptional achievements and a unique, enduring influence on the arts and on our field. Mr. Harris’s distinctive vision, his craftsmanship, and his profound dedication have been of great value to our community and our education. His work was, and continues to be, even posthumously, an important source of inspiration for our students, alumni, and teachers. Barry Harris is in our dna.
