Workshop with Catrin Wyn-Davies

13 November 2020

‘Kennst du das Land wo die Zitronen blühn’ (Do you know the land where the lemon trees blossom), is the famous first line from Goethe’s poem about a mysterious young girl named Mignon. Our Main Subject Teacher Vocal Studies, Catrin Wyn-Davies took her Vocal Students on a journey through Goethe’s powerful work that influenced many big composers such as Beethoven, Tchaikowsky, Schubert and Liszt! In a workshop, Catrin encouraged her students to find their own interpretation of the text and to slip into the character of Mignon. The students composed their own musical version of this remarkable poem and created small scenic situations. The result was a show of very creative staged performances.

The workshop took place at one of our new additional locations, MOOF to make as much education possible and that in a safe and spacious environment, where regular ventilation is possible.
