‘I would like to travel and play music all around the world. Meet a lot of people and enjoy what I do.’ Federica is a Master’s student of piano and vocal studies in the Jazz department.

Federica’s dream is to become the best musician she can be. ‘If you believe in something, you can do it. To achieve my goal, I try to play and collaborate a lot with others. And I challenge myself. By playing in jam sessions and in other contexts that really scare me.’

Jazz musicians are also composers – they create and discover new music. Federica plays in a lot of bands that perform their own compositions. ‘I want to find the right sound in my own work and in music composed by others. You must always try to understand the composer’s intention in order to perform the music well. On the other hand, it is also important to make your own voice heard when you’re performing existing and well-known repertoire.’
