Pierre Darde

Teacher Classical Ballet

Born in 1962 Pierre Darde joined the Paris Opera Ballet School in 1974 and the Paris Opera Ballet in 1979. He became soloist there in 1983 and danced works of many choreographers (Noureev, Cunningham, Balanchine, Béjart, Bausch, Bournonville, Naharin, Robbins, Mac Millan, Preljocaj... ). He started a career as a choreographer at a young age and was awarded the "Carpeaux Price" among others. he made creations for the Ballet de Nancy, de Nantes,de Nice, Opéra de Paris, Ballet National du Paraguay, Instituto del Teatro in Barcelona.

In 2000 he moved to Japan where he pursued dancing (baroque, ballet, butoh) and making choreographies (full length version of Swan Lake for the Noma Ballet in Osaka) and started to teach for companies (la Danse Contrastée, Matthew Bourne,Ballet de Marseille, Compagnie Bianca Li) and many studios.

Back in Europe he became "Professor für Tanz" for the Palucca Schule Dresden in Germany before joining the Royal Conservatoire in 2010.
