Zoran Dukiç

Zoran Dukiç is one of the most prominent guitarists of his generation. He was born in Zagreb, Kroatië in 1969, where he began playing the guitar at the age of six. He graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb with Darko Petrinjak, and studied further with Hubert Käppel at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany.

Zoran Dukiç won an enormous number of guitar competitions, including the “Guerrero” International Guitar Competition in Madrid, 1992, the “20th International Guitar Competition” in Viña del Mar, Chili, 1993. The “International Guitar Competition “Printemps de la Guitarre” in Belgium, 1994, the “Andrés Segovia” International Guitar Competition in Granada, Spain, 1996 and de “De Bonis” International Guitar Competition in Cosenza, Italy, 1997. 

Zoran Dukiç performed as a soloist in more than 30 countries in important venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Teatre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Maison de Radio France in Paris, the National Art Gallery in Ottawa, the Luis Angel Arango hall in Bogota and the Çemal Resit Rey in Istanbul.

He has been invited regularly to give Masterclasses at international festivals over the whole world, and appears frequently as a soloist with orchestras from Spain, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Hungary, Switzerland, Taiwan, Columbia, Chili and Croatia.

Zoran dukiç is a highly active chamber musician, as well as being the founder of the Trio de Cologne guitar trio. He has recorded albums for record companies in Germany, Spain and Belgium. He is currently principal study teacher at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, the Hochschule für Musik in Aachen, and the Escuela Superior de Musica Barcelona.
