Welcome to the registration procedure for your course at the Royal Conservatoire. Every step of the registration procedure is described and explained below and all you have to do is complete each step in the process.

You will receive an e-mail from Studielink with a link to Osiris Online Application, which is part of our Student Administration System. You will upload all the requested documents to that page. If you have any questions during the process, please contact the student administration office at studentadministration@koncon.nl.

Attention: The deadline for uploading documents via Osiris Aanmeld is no later than 28 February 2021.

Studielink is the online registration system for higher education in the Netherlands. When you register, you will also automatically be registered with DUO (Dienst Uitvoerend Onderwijs), the agency that arranges student financing, among other things.

  • If you are a Dutch student, log on with your DigiD. If you do not yet have one, it can be requested at www.digid.nl. It could be several days before you receive the log-in codes.
  • If you are an international student, log on with a user name and password that you will be able to create for yourself in Studielink.
  • Apply for the course of your choice (the first step in your ‘to do’ list) under Royal Academy/Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Complete each step in the screen. Detailed instructions and help with the process is available on the website of Studielink.

Start by collecting all the documents you will need to register for your entrance exam and your course.

You are required to write a realistic Master Project Plan. Please refer to the guidelines document.

Make a recording on video for the pre-selection procedure. We would like you to perform and record a number of works of your own choice. The total length of the recording should not exceed 20 minutes.

Check the entry requirements on the programme page of your choice to get an idea of the level/works  we're looking for.

Put the recordings on YouTube/Vimeo.
Create a Word/PDF document with a list of the repertoire and all the activated links.
You will upload the Word/PDF document at the appropriate question in Osiris Online Application later in the process. 

This is required for all Early Music, Vocal, Jazz and Classical Music main subjects.

The decision on whether you will be permitted to sit the entrance exam (international candidates will sometimes be allowed to sit a NON-LIVE entrance exam. This is decided on a case by case basis and is not automatically valid for all courses. Please ask your department for further information.) is based on the information and the answers you have entered and the documents and sound and visual recordings you have uploaded. The Student Administration Office will inform you by e-mail before 1 April 2021 whether you will be invited for an entrance exam.

Most students are admitted during the so-called ‘admissions week’ in April.

Admissions week is in April (click here for the specific dates). In the weeks after your entrance exam you will be notified by e-mail and/or in a letter whether you have been provisionally admitted to the course or have been rejected.

Notification that you have been provisionally admitted to the course means that you meet the necessary standard for admission but are not yet certain of a place (for example, because the decision depends on the number of places on the course).

You are only certain of being able to enter the Royal Conservatoire and start studying in September of the following academic year when you are formally notified that you have been admitted.

Update 24 April 2020 - online language test

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, most language test centers have closed their doors and scheduled tests have been canceled. Therefore, ETS is offering a TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition test, which is available worldwide, with the exception of mainland China and Iran. The test is available until at least 30 June 2020.

The scores are valid for two years and have to be valid on 1 September 2021.

Certificates from the Institutional TOEFL test, the TOEFL-ITP test, or other language proficiency tests will not be accepted.

If you are admitted, you must ensure that all the necessary documents are submitted.
The deadline to submit the proof of your English language proficiency (see step English proficiency) is 1 September.

When you are admitted you will receive information via e-mail and Studielink about payment of tuition fees.

Only when you have fulfilled all registration requirements will you be enrolled as a student. So make sure that you have submitted all requested documents before 1 September 2021.
