Chao Shi teaches classical ballet, coaching and pas de deux for ballet groups VII and VIII, as well as the Bachelor students. He started his ballet training at the Shanghai Dance School in China when he was ten years of age. At the age of sixteen, he was one of the winners of the Prix de Lausanne and went on to follow two years of study at the National Ballet School of Canada on a scholarship. Between 2005 and 2016, he danced many classical and contemporary ballets with the Dutch National Ballet, Amsterdam on the Dutch and international stages.
Chao is passionate to share his knowledge and experience in dance and has become a qualified teacher of the Vaganova method. He joined the staff of the Dance department in 2017 and has also given classes at schools in the Netherlands and abroad, including the Dutch National Ballet and the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam.
