Edoardo Valorz

Edoardo Valorz (1983) is harpsichordist and organist.

He was born in Italy, and studied organ with Wijnand van de Pol at the Conservatorio di Perugia. After gymnasium, he attended musicological courses and studied harpsichord with Patrizia Marisaldi in Vicenza (BA). He got the BA (2011) and MA (2013) degrees at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, as a student of Ton Koopman and Tini Mathot for the harpsichord, and of Patrick Ayrton for the bassocontinuo.

As a soloist and as continuo player he performed, on organ and on harpsichord, in several early music festivals in Europe and Asia, such as Utrecht Oude-Muziek, Itinéraire Baroque, Seoul Early Music, AntiquaFestival, Lübecker Buxtehude-Tage, Musica Viva, I Concerti della Normale, Musica Antica Den Haag and others. He frequently collaborates with orchestras and ensembles on original instruments, such as Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, PRJCT Amsterdam, Vox Luminis, Musica Temprana, and others.

He played under the leading of conductors such as Ton Koopman, Christopher Hogwood, Bart Kuijken, Peter van Heygen and Alfredo Bernardini.

He is currently a PhD student at Leiden University and Orpheus Instituut Gent. He is Lecturer and Harpsichord Teacher at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. He recorded for SONY Classic (NL) and Audioguy (KR).

He appeared several times on Dutch National and Italian broadcasts, such as Radio1, Radio4, NPO1 and NPO2 (Podium Witteman), Radio3.
