Yiannis Marinos

Docent Trombone

Yiannis Marinos is a Greek trombone player and educator living in Den Haag.

After studying classical trombone (Athens Conservatory F. Nakas) and having a successful professional career in Greece, he decided to move to The Netherlands to study Jazz trombone at Codarts Conservatory from where he graduated Cum Laude.

Some of his current main projects are “MARUTYRI”, "MODJI", "Knimes Acoustic Group", “The Latin Devils of Lucas van Merwijk” and "ChaChaChalina".

He has also collaborated with “The Cubop City Big Band”, “The ReFreshed Orchestra”, “Mambisimo Big Band”, “The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw", "New Cool Collective" and more.

Yiannis is a versatile trombone player playing different styles of music.

''I like to consider myself as a musician who is interested in all styles of music. I love to play Jazz as much as I love to play Classical, or Latin, or Pop. It is one big world to discover.''

Since 2017 he is teaching Jazz trombone at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and since 2019 at Artez Conservatory in Zwolle.
