Welcome to the registration procedure for your course at the Royal Conservatoire. Every step of the registration procedure is described and explained below and all you have to do is complete each step in the process.

Clicking on the x will reveal additional information. When you go to Studielink you will leave our website. You will receive an e-mail from Studielink with a link to Osiris Online Application, which is part of our Student Administration System. You will upload all the requested documents to that page. If you have any questions during the process, please contact the student administration office.

Also check the general admission requirements, these are applicable to all admissions.

Attention: The deadline for uploading documents via Osiris Aanmeld is no later than 29 February 2020.

Studielink is the online registration system for higher education in the Netherlands. When you register, you will also automatically be registered with DUO (Dienst Uitvoerend Onderwijs), the agency that arranges student financing, among other things.

  • If you are a Dutch student, log on with your DigiD. If you do not yet have one, it can be requested at www.digid.nl. It could be several days before you receive the log-in codes.
  • If you are an international student, log on with a user name and password that you will be able to create for yourself in Studielink.
  • Apply for the course of your choice (the first step in your ‘to do’ list) under Royal Academy/Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Complete each step in the screen. Detailed instructions and help with the process is available on the website of Studielink.

To Studielink

Note: you will now leave the website of the Royal Conservatoire. You are not done with the admission process after registering with Studielink. Please read the further instructions below first.

Start by collecting all the documents you will need to register for your entrance exam and your course.

  1. Recordings (see below)
  2. Motivation form (see below)
  3. Master plan (see below)
  4. Curriculum vitae

For the purpose of the pre-selection, we wish to receive a video recording lasting not more than 20 minutes showing you conducting an ensemble. Your face must be clearly visible in the recording and at least your head and upper body must be in view. The video should include one or more rehearsals and one or more performances.

If you have your own YouTube or Vimeo account (or an account with a similar online platform), we would prefer if you posted your recordings on that platform.

Create a Word document with a list of all the links to the video recordings. You will upload the Word document at the appropriate question in Osiris Online Application later in the process.

Download the PDF to answer the questions in the form. Upload the motivation form to Osiris Online Application.

Motivation form

Students wishing to be admitted to a Master’s course at the Royal Conservatoire have to submit a Master plan. Click on the link below for the guidelines for writing the Master plan.

Guidelines for the Master plan

Upload your Master plan to your Osiris Aanmeld.

The decision on whether you will be permitted to sit the entrance exam (international candidates will sometimes be allowed to sit a NON-LIVE entrance exam. This is decided on a case by case basis and is not automatically valid for all courses. Please ask your department for further information.) is based on the information and the answers you have entered and the documents and sound and visual recordings you have uploaded. The Student Administration Office will inform you by e-mail before 1 April 2020 whether you will be invited for an entrance exam.

Most students are admitted during the so-called ‘admissions week’ in April.

Admissions week is in April (click here for the specific dates). In the weeks after your entrance exam you will be notified by e-mail and/or in a letter whether you have been provisionally admitted to the course or have been rejected.

Notification that you have been provisionally admitted to the course means that you meet the necessary standard for admission but are not yet certain of a place (for example, because the decision depends on the number of places on the course).

You are only certain of being able to enter the Royal Conservatoire and start studying in September of the following academic year when you are formally notified that you have been admitted.

If you are admitted, you must ensure that all the necessary documents are submitted.
The deadline to submit the proof of your English language proficiency (see step English proficiency) is 1 September.

When you are admitted you will receive information via e-mail and Studielink about payment of tuition fees.

Only when you have fulfilled all registration requirements will you be enrolled as a student. So make sure that you have submitted all requested documents before 1 September 2020.

More information on the fees and payment.

We wish you a lot of success with your application.

Non-EU/EEA students who are admitted to the programme they applied for need an entree visa and/or residence permit. You also need to make other practical arrangements before you come to the Netherlands and when you arrive here. Please check the website for international students coming to the Netherlands for all procedures, information and contact info.
