Due to the corona measures, the Amare Open Festival can’t take place. This program has been cancelled. A number of activities can take place in a trimmed down form. More information about this can be found at amare.nl.
Family Day
During the day you can bring the children to the Residentie Orkest’s instrument garden and the jam sessions with students from the Royal Conservatoire.
The instrument Garden
In the instrument garden you will be able to try out various instruments. Or perhaps you already play an instrument and would like to try another one? There will be four instruments to play, one from each instrument group. Try blowing a tune a brass instrument or bowing a string instrument. Or producing a sound from a woodwind instrument. Or tapping out a rhythm on a percussion instrument? Our teachers will be happy to help you.
The precise opening hours of the instrument garden will be announced here later.
Jam sessions
On the Kunstenplein, there will be jam sessions by jazz and percussion students from the Royal Conservatoire and the urban dancers from the Aight hiphop centre in The Hague and top dancer Redo.
The precise starting times will be announced here later.
Amare Shuffle
Anyone can do the Amare Shuffle. Come along and learn the moves and then join the parade through the building on the way to the family show FEEST! Our teachers will be there to guide you, with the help of The Residents and NDT Uitblinkers and accompanied by the beautiful sounds of Evoke, a work composed by Geneviève Murphy and performed by Neo-fanfare 9x13.
Don’t miss the fun!
We will be starting from Spuiplein at 13.00 and 15.00.
Workshops and performances
There will be plenty of fun workshops during the family day. How about taking your first steps on an actual ballet floor or trying out a musical instrument. Or perhaps you’d like to join the festive parade through Amare to FEEST?
We do ask that you reserve a place in the workshops for your children (and perhaps for yourselves?).
Note! We request that you report to the stand in the Kunstenplein (the open space on the ground floor of Amare) 15 minutes before the start of all the workshops. You will be collected from there.
