"Everything has been going very well. I am truly excited for our final performance, The Cunning Little Vixen, and very much look forward to my summer production of Atalanta by G.F. Handel during the Innsbruck Festwochen.

I just want to say thank you truly for this beautiful opportunity, I learned so much during this master’s year. I met wonderful people, made and sang amazing music, and worked with amazing conductors, singers, and teachers. It made me grow so much as an artist and a person, and because of it I feel more ready than ever to step into the real world now.

The scholarship really took a huge weight out of my parents’ shoulders and it made me also believe more in myself, and my capabilities. It definitely made my master's possible and I am truly grateful to know that there are people that want to support young artists like me.

I will be starting my first season at the Wiener Staatsoper Studio in September with wonderful productions coming up and for that I am truly excited. I very much look forward to meeting new people, working with some of my idols, rehearsing with them, and to continuing to develop myself as a human being and artist."

"The past few months were really special. I did my final master recital, a successful research presentation and finished my orchestra master specialization with Residentie Orkest. I also finished a production with my quintet in collaboration with Oorkaan.

Studying at the Royal Conservatoire has really been an amazing experience, full of challenges and learning. I have the most beautiful memories of professional and personal experiences. etting to know new people, new professors and sharing with amazing musicians completely changed me as a person. I now have the tools I really need in my career, and I am truly grateful for and happy about this chapter of my life.

Having the Fonds 1999 Topscholarship has meant everything. It was the reason I was able to do my studies in this institution, have the opportunity to grow as a musician and have wonderful experiences and professional opportunities.

I am currently preparing for professional auditions. I have a production next season with Holland Opera and New European Ensemble, as well as upcoming projects with Residentie Orkest. Also, we are working at forming a foundation with my wind quintet Aires Tropicales."

"Thanks so much for the support. It may look only like a small gesture, supporting the scholarship program, but for many of us - like me – it can change our life. Thank you!"

"This last quarter was filled with meaningful projects and significant milestones in my studies. One of the highlights was performing in a private concert at a church as part of the celebration of 200 years Royal Conservatoire. In this concert, I had the opportunity to share Indonesian music with my colleagues, introducing an important part of my cultural heritage and creating a valuable exchange of musical traditions.

For my final recital, I wanted to create a program that would be memorable, meaningful, and representative of my gratitude for the opportunity to study at this conservatoire. The recital combined both solo and collaborative performances, featuring a diverse repertoire including a piano sonata duet, a viola and piano duo, and a piano eight-hands ensemble. I brought my own musical tradition into the performance by organizing an Angklung workshop and inviting the audience to participate in making music together. This interactive experience allowed performers and audience members to connect through music in a unique way. I was deeply satisfied with how the recital unfolded, and it has become one of my most treasured memories from my time at the conservatoire. The experience reinforced my belief in music as a powerful medium for collaboration, cultural exchange, and community building.

Having a scholarship really helped me to focus on my studies. I had more time to focus and work on my research and practicing. Indeed, having scholarship encouraged me to work as best I can and gave me space to explore musical activities, like teaching workshops, outside concerts, and accompaniment jobs.

I plan to continue my teaching practice, expanding with my colleagues through creating music workshops for daycare, as the starting point for learning music from an early age."

"These past few months have been amazing! I enjoyed many conducting projects, including Donizetti’s opera Il Campanello with DNOA, my final exam with the Noord Nederlands Orkest, and for friends’ graduation presentations.

These past two years have given me so much, both personally and musically. They have been years of growth, transformation, and invaluable hands-on experience. I couldn't be more grateful for this journey and for my amazing teachers, who have guided and supported me every step of the way.The opportunity to receive the scholarship was a tremendous financial help and allowed me to fully dedicate myself to my studies, worrying less about the financial side of things. Thank you!

This master’s programme has had a profound impact on me. It gave me the freedom to explore, take risks, and discover who I am as an artist, including both my strengths and the areas where I still have room to grow. Only a few days after my final exam, I auditioned for an Assistant Conductor position at a French theater and was offered the job! It feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

I would love to thank you all for your amazing support and believing in us, young artists!"

"This last quarter felt like a very special way to conclude my time at the conservatoire. The biggest milestone was my final master’s recital, Only to Dream, which was awarded with a 9.5. Creating and performing this programme gave me the opportunity to bring together many of the artistic questions I have been exploring over the past two years, particularly around storytelling, character, and creating meaningful connections with an audience.

I received a 9 for my research project, The Active Score, which is now published in the research catalogue of the Royal Conservatoire. It was very rewarding to share the work through workshops for singers at the conservatoire, seeing ideas that began as personal research become practical tools that other performers could engage with and adapt for themselves.

Looking back on my time at the Royal Conservatoire, I am grateful for how much I have grown as both a singer and an artist. The Royal Conservatoire gave me the freedom to explore new ideas, take artistic risks, and connect performance, research, and professional practice. Through the people I met and the opportunities I had, I developed skills and perspectives that will continue to shape my career long after graduation.

Receiving the Excellence Scholarship allowed me to focus on my artistic and professional development without financial pressure. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities it has made possible and for the role it has played in helping me complete my master’s degree. It gave me the freedom to fully invest in opportunities that shaped me as an artist. The scholarship also felt like a vote of confidence in my potential, motivating me to make the most of my time at the Royal Conservatoire.

I will be performing Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier with Opera Spanga this summer. After that, I plan to move back to Canada and continue building my career as a performer. It feels like an exciting transition, and I am looking forward to taking everything I have learned at the Royal Conservatoire into this next chapter."
