Excellence scholarships for the best Master’s candidates
If you are planning to follow a Master’s course at the Royal Conservatoire you might be eligible for one of the scholarships awarded by the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire. The Fund for Excellence awards annual scholarships at the level of the tuition fee for the Master’s candidates who achieve the very best entrance exams.

The entrance exam
Your entrance exam will be assessed by a committee composed of the head of the relevant department and the department’s teachers. Students who are awarded a grade of 10 and who have submitted a convincing Master Plan will be proposed for an Excellence Scholarship. If you are awarded a grade of 9, the committee will deliberate to decide whether you will be proposed for an Excellence Scholarship. The decision will be based on a range of factors. The final selection of scholarship candidates is made by the directorate of the Royal Conservatoire on the recommendation of the exam committees and the heads of departments. These candidates will be proposed to the executive board of the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire for their confirmation.

Awarding of scholarships
The procedure is completed before July 1 when you will receive official notification from the Fund for Excellence of the Royal Conservatoire that you have been awarded a scholarship. The Excellence Scholarship is an annual sum that will continue for the nominal term of the course provided you make satisfactory progress with your studies, and depending on the fund’s financial situation.

Please note
If you are awarded a NL Scholarship you are not eligible for an Excellence Scholarship and vice versa.
