Study information

If you have a Master of Music degree from the Royal Conservatoire or an equivalent institute and a real desire to further develop your professional and artistic skills, concentrate on specific repertoire or learn more about a particular area of expertise, you can enrol for our one-year music programme leading to the award of an ‘Artist's Certificate Music’.

We offer a complete programme including: weekly individual instrumental, vocal or composition lessons of 75 minutes; weekly participation in ensembles, combos or orchestral projects; the possibility of attending courses offered to regular students (orchestral works or authentic performance practice, for example); organising regular opportunities for performances via the Royal Conservatoire’s Career Development Office. The curriculum is tailored to the needs of the individual student and culminates in an Artist's Certificate Music, which is awarded when the student passes a final public recital or presentation.

The admission requirements for the programme are: you must already have a Master of Music degree and possess a high level of artistic and technical ability. This will be evaluated by means of a video recording or, preferably, at a live audition. The criteria for the audition are similar to those for the Master of Music programme. You will not be required to write a complete study plan, but we will ask you to write a letter of motivation and you will be questioned on it at an interview after the audition. Finally, you must have a good command of English in order to follow the lessons and to be able to interact with your fellow students.
