Masterclass Weekend
During the Muziek als Vak Masterclass Weekends you will be introduced to music education at your own level, inspired by the Kodály methodology. The weekend is suitable for beginners in this field (with or without a musical education) as well as for experienced music teachers. In various workshops you will work on your own musical skills (musicianship skills), methodology, and 'Songs & Games'.
There will be two Masterclass Weekends in the 2025-2026 school year:
On November 15 and 16, 2025, Muziek als Vak is organizing the next Masterclass Weekend. We'll be presenting a wide range of workshops on various topics. Suitable for anyone interested in Kodály music education. Join us for an inspiring weekend of active workshops!
This weekend, we'll focus on using the Kodály methodology in various work environments. The application in primary education will be illustrated with a demonstration lesson by a group of children from the Koorschool Haarlem. Our teachers, László Nemes, Árpád Tóth, Anouk Vinders, Tim Tomassen, and Daniël Salbert, will also address the connection between folk music and art music (by, amongst others, Bartók, Brahms, and Humperdinck), and how these genres influence each other.
This weekend we will let go of the usual separation between workshops that focus on either musicianship or methodology, so that all workshops include both elements.
