Welcome to the admission procedure for your course at the Royal Conservatoire. Every step of the registration procedure is described and explained below and all you have to do is complete each step in the process.

Clicking on the x will reveal additional information. When you have completed the first three (or four) steps, you will leave our website and move to Studielink. You will receive an e-mail from Studielink with a link to Osiris Online Application, which is part of our Student Administration System. You will upload all the requested documents to that page. If you have any questions during the process, please contact the student administration office at studentadministration@koncon.nl.

Also check the general admission requirements, these are applicable to all admissions.

Start by collecting all the documents you will need to register for your entrance exam and your course.

1.       A photocopy /scan of your passport/ID (Word/PDF)

2.       A (scan of a) recent photo (JPG 3x4)

3.       Photocopies/scans of your diploma(s) and lists of grades and/or your most recent report (PDF) (these can be uploaded to Osiris until 1 July)

4.       Curriculum vitae (not mandatory)

5.       Recordings (see below)

6.       Motivation form (see below)

Make a recording on video for the pre-selection procedure. We would like you to perform and record a number of works of your own choice. The total length of the recording should not exceed 20 minutes.

Check the entry requirements on the programme page of your choice to get an idea of the level/works  we're looking for.

Put the recordings on You Tube / Vimeo.

Create a Word/PDF document with a list of the repertoire and all the activated links.

You will upload the Word/PDF document at the appropriate question in Osiris Online Application later in the process.
This is required for all Early Music, Vocal, Jazz and Classical Music main subjects.

Download the PDF to answer the questions in the form. Upload the motivation form to Osiris Online Application.

Having collected all the documents you need you will now leave this website and register as a student with Studielink. Studielink is the online registration system for higher education in the Netherlands. When you register, you will also automatically be registered with DUO (Dienst Uitvoerend Onderwijs), the agency that arranges student financing, among other things.

These are the steps you have to take in Studielink:

  • If you are a Dutch student, log on with your DigiD. If you do not yet have one, it can be requested at www.digid.nl. It could be several days before you receive the log-in codes.
  • If you are an international student, log on with a user name and password that you will be able to create for yourself in Studielink.
  • If you are a Dutch student logging on to Studielink for the first time, keep your diploma and list of grades available. If you have not received them yet, the information can still be entered until 1 July. If you have already received post from DUO you will have a correspondence number that you can enter.
  • When you log on to Studielink you will arrive at the first page of your account. Enter the missing information and click on Confirm.
  • On your own page you will find all of the information relating to your registration and enrolment. At the top of the page you will see a ‘to do’ list of all the things you still have to do. You should therefore check that list regularly. You should also carefully read any messages and e-mails that you receive from Studielink because they contain important information for your registration.
  • Apply for the course of your choice (the first step in your ‘to do’ list) under Royal Academy/Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Complete each step in the screen. A small screen will appear with the message ‘The course you have chosen has additional requirements’. This means that you have to sit an entrance exam.
  • Continue with your registration by choosing when you will start the course . That is always in September.
  • Confirm your registration.

Shortly after confirming the registration you will receive an e-mail at the address you have given containing a link to Osiris Online Application. You will now proceed to the final step in the registration process.

To Studielink

Note: you will now leave the website of the Royal Conservatoire. You are not done with the admission process after registering with Studielink. Please read the further instructions below first.

When you arrive at the Osiris Online Application website the first thing you have to do is select a language (Dutch or English). You then log on with the log-in details that were sent to you. Note: you should immediately change your password.

You have already collected all the documents you need during step 1 so you can now upload them all at once to Osiris.

When you have logged on to Osiris Online Application, answer the questions that appear. Some questions must be answered (or a document has to be uploaded) and they are marked with an asterisk. Other documents can be uploaded after you have been admitted to a course, but they must also be uploaded before you commence your studies.
If you are unable to upload all of the requested documents immediately, we will send you an occasional reminder.

Note: we can only arrange a date for your entrance exam when all the mandatory documents have been uploaded.

You can save your answers as you proceed. For your application for admission to become final you must not only save the questions in Osiris Online Application, but also click on ‘Send’.

The decision on whether you will be permitted to sit the entrance exam (international candidates will sometimes be allowed to sit a NON-LIVE entrance exam) is based on the information and the answers you have entered and the documents and sound and visual recordings you have uploaded. The Student Administration Office will inform you by e-mail before 1 April 2018 whether you will be invited for an entrance exam.

Most students are admitted during the so-called ‘admissions week’ in April.

Admissions week is in April (see the bottom of the link for the specific dates). In the weeks after your entrance exam you will be notified by e-mail and/or in a letter whether you have been provisionally admitted to the course or have been rejected.

Notification that you have been provisionally admitted to the course means that you meet the necessary standard for admission but are not yet certain of a place (for example, because the decision depends on the number of places on the course). You are only certain of being able to enter the Royal Conservatoire and start studying in September of the following academic year when you are formally notified that you have been admitted.

If you are admitted, you must ensure that all the necessary documents (see step 1) are submitted before 1 July. You will receive an e-mail from the Royal Conservatoire regarding the payment of tuition fees, which must be paid before the deadline in the July of the year in which you will commence your studies.

When you have paid the tuition fees or authorised payment by direct debit you will be enrolled as a student at the Royal Conservatoire.
More information on the fees and payment.

We wish you a lot of success with your application.

Overseas students who are admitted to the programme they applied for might need to apply for a visa. You might also need to make numerous other arrangements before you come to the Netherlands or when you arrive here. Please check the website for international students coming to the Netherlands for all procedures, contact info and help.
