Side by Side 2025: Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn


The Royal Conservatoire is proud to present the annual Side by Side project with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. This unique partnership offers students of the Early Music department the chance to learn from the masters of the craft. Led by soloist and musical director Alexander Melnikov and concertmaster Alexander Janiczek, the joint orchestra of around 70 musicians will perform a wonderful programme of works by Fanny Mendelssohn and Felix Mendelssohn.

- Piano Concerto no. 2 in D major, op. 40
Felix Mendelssohn
- Symphony no. 3 in a minor, op. 56 ‘Scottish’
